Acupressure

60 minutes: $150
90 minutes: $200

Acupressure is based on one the most ancient principles of healing - that simply touching a specific point on the body will release stress and improve health in the body. In an acupressure session, I apply firm pressure directly to these "points" on your body, which relieves your muscle tension and improves your circulation. This simple and powerful technique has been shown to be extremely effective in treating headaches, tension, stress, backaches, trauma, and even insomnia.

Usually, you would come to a therapy session wearing loose-fitting clothes as my therapy is done with clothes on. If we decide to do cupping or gua sha, then clothing would be removed for the areas of the body where the cupping or gua sha will be performed. As we may do some range of motion work, please be sure to wear clothing that would allow for such movements.

Please do not wear cologne or perfume to our session as our therapy sanctuary is scent-free.

Discounts provided to veterans.

Tui na Therapy (Chinese Massage)

60 minutes: $160
90 minutes: $210

Tui na therapy is a part of the ancient practice of Chinese medicine.

Tui Na (also called Tui-Na or Tuina massage) is a bodywork modallity based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Working along meridians (energy channels) throughout the body, the tui na therapist taps into these energy points to balance the body’s qi (loosely translated as energy).

Some people might described tui na as a combination of Shiatsu and acupressure. It really is its own modality and very likely predated Shiatsu.

Some techniques and strokes used in tui na are similar to those used in Swedish massage, such as gliding, kneading, rocking, pulling, friction, and rolling. But because tui na is based on Chinese medicine, it also has some significant differences from Western massage therapy.

Tui na goes beyond the muscles, bones, and joints to work with the body on a deeper, energetic level.

Traditional Chinese Medicine looks at patients holistically, focusing on an individual's whole being - physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.

As a part of Chinese medicine, tui na is a routine treatment in TCM hospitals and clinics throughout Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.
